External Evaluations
We were placed on the CDP's*1 annual climate change A List for third consecutive year, thus recognizing the company as one of the world leading businesses at the forefront of tackling climate change. Of the approximately 10,000 companies worldwide that were assessed, 283 companies were selected for the A-list, out of which 74 are Japanese companies and 2 are shipping companies, including NYK. We believe that our selection as an A-list company, the highest rating, is a comprehensive recognition of our achievements as a global leader in reducing GHG emissions and the series of initiatives to mitigate the risks of climate change. Since February 2022, we have been included by CDP in its Supplier Engagement Leader for the company's initiatives to reduce GHG emissions and tackle climate-change risks.
In December 2022, we were selected as a constituent of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index *2, a global ESG index, for the 20th consecutive year.
In August 2022, we have been selected for the FTSE4 Good Index Series *3, which is one of the world's representative ESG (environmental, social, governance) investment indicators, for the 20th consecutive year. We have also been selected for the sixth consecutive year in the “FTSE Blossom Japan Index” *4, and the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index *5 for a second consecutive year. The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is an ESG investment index used by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).

The CDP score is widely used around the world as a leading indicator in making sustainable investment and procurement decisions. Responding companies are allocated a score from A to D- depending on the comprehensiveness of their disclosure. Additionally, the index is widely used for sustainable investments and other financial instruments. - *5FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
Newly adopted in 2022, the index is designed to be sector-neutral, reflecting the performance of Japanese companies having relatively superior ESG responses in each sector.
