Systems and Programs
A variety of systems and programs have been introduced to encourage NYK Group staff members to take on the challenge of solving social issues through activities based on the NYK Group sustainability initiatives (NYKSI) and action guidelines.
NYK Introduces Volunteer Point System
NYK has introduced a volunteer point system to encourage employees to participate in activities that contribute to society. Points are granted for each form of contribution made by employees, and NYK then tallies the points, converts them to a monetary amount, and makes donations in that amount to charities. Moreover, the system is used to recognize top volunteers every year to inspire greater activism.
Matching Gift Program
Matching gift program is a program under which NYK provides an additional contribution proportional to the contributions made by employees to an NPO or similar organization.
A system that allows members of the NYK Group to easily participate in fundraising (support for victims, etc.) by setting up payroll deductions through the in-house company intranet.
NYK Group Sustainability Initiatives Web Portal
This portal introduces our NYK Group Sustainability Initiatives (NYKSI) activities and includes information about volunteer activities, applications for NYKSI events, and appeals for donations to victims of disasters — all with the aim of making a contribution to solving social issues.
NYK Volunteer Supporters started in 2015 as an organization to promote volunteer activities for NYK Group staff members. In 2022, the Supporters became NYKSI partners to liven up our NYKSI by conducting activities that improve awareness of social issues, help us coexist with local communities, and enhance corporate value.
