NYK Recognized by CDP as Supplier Engagement Leader for Fourth Consecutive Year

NYK has been selected as a "Supplier Engagement Leader," the highest recognition awarded based on a supplier engagement rating (SER) conducted in 2023 by the international environmental nonprofit CDP.*

This is the fourth consecutive year for NYK to receive this recognition. Only one other shipping company was awarded this recognition for 2023.**

Organizations are evaluated on their supplier engagement through their responses to questions in four key areas of the CDP climate change questionnaire related to governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions accounting, and value chain engagement. The selection recognizes companies that have excelled in addressing climate change throughout their supply chains.***

As announced on February 7, NYK was recognized by CDP as an "A-List" company for climate change for a fourth consecutive year.

With the cooperation of various stakeholders, including customers, the NYK Group is actively engaged in various fuel-saving and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction activities, promoting the use of LNG as a marine fuel, and conducting research and demonstration projects for the practical application of hydrogen, ammonia, and other zero-emission fuels. As a corporate group that continues to contribute to society and achieve sustainable growth, we will further accelerate our efforts with our stakeholders and take the lead in decarbonizing the entire global supply chain.

On March 10, 2023, the NYK Group released its medium-term management plan “Sail Green, Drive Transformations 2026 — A Passion for Planetary Wellbeing. ” The NYK Group is promoting growth strategies with ESG at the core, based on the Group’s basic philosophy of “Bringing value to life” and a new corporate vision for 2030, which reads, “we go beyond the scope of a comprehensive global logistics enterprise to co-create value required for the future by advancing our core business and growing new ones.”
