NYK Makes Donation to Médecins Sans Frontières after Successful Health Promotion Event

On January 25, a ceremony was held at the Tokyo head office to present Médecins Sans Frontières* with a donation raised through the "Charity Run+Walk+α" (“Chari Run") health promotion event conducted by the entire NYK Group from September to November 2023.

Chari Run is an in-house event that launched in 2017 with the aim of promoting the health of the Group's employees and instilling an awareness of social issues. In the 2023 event, 276 participants from domestic and overseas group companies, far exceeding the 194 participants in the 2022 event, registered their targeted exercise results through an app and other means.

This donation is the total amount of the Chari Run participation fee paid by the participants and a matching contribution by NYK based on the participants' performance. NYK contributes to Médecins Sans Frontières to help promote the health of people who do not have access to medical services due to conflicts and disasters.

In recognition of these efforts, on December 14, 2023, NYK was again certified as a "Tokyo Sports Promotion Company”** by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

The NYK Group will continue to promote health management so that employees can work vigorously and maximize their abilities. The Group will also continue to engage in social contribution activities.
