NYK Recognized as CDP Supplier Engagement Leader

NYK has been selected as a "2021 CDP Supplier Engagement Leader," a recognition by CDP,* an international environmental non-profit organization, of NYK’s strong management over its own overall climate-change impact.

CDP’s supplier engagement rating (SER) is based on the four categories of governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions accounting, and supplier engagement in last year's CDP climate change questionnaire and recognizes companies that have excelled in addressing climate change throughout their supply chains.

Of the approximately 6,200 companies worldwide that were evaluated, around 500 companies (including 105 Japanese companies), which are among the top 8% of all evaluated companies, were selected as Supplier Engagement Leaders.

On December 8, 2021, NYK was selected as an "A List" company, which is the highest rating, after an assessment of the company’s response to CDP’s climate change questionnaire.

With the cooperation of our customers and stakeholders, NYK is actively engaged in various fuel-saving and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction activities, the promotion of LNG as a marine fuel, and research and demonstration projects for the practical use of zero-emission fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia. Being selected as a Supplier Engagement Leader is a recognition of our efforts throughout the supply chain.

On February 3, 2021, NYK released the “NYK Group ESG Story,” which aims to further integrate ESG into the company’s management strategy and promotes activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs through business activities.

The NYK Group will continue to strive to disclose relevant information as a global leader in addressing climate change, and to create new value as a sustainable solution provider needed by society and industry.
