Disclosures Based on the TCFD and TNFD Recommendations
Disclosure Report Based on Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
The NYK Group recognizes climate change as one of its most important management issues. In December 2018, the Group announced its support for the final TCFD and has since continued to promote appropriate information disclosure in line with those recommendations.
Based on the four core TCFD pillars - "Governance", "Risk Management", "Strategy", and "Metrics and Targets" - the Group assesses the impacts of climate change on its business activities and financial position, and discloses the management strategies and specific initiatives we are advancing in response.
Disclosure Report Based on Recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)
The NYK Group joined the TNFD Forum in December 2023 and became a TNFD Early Adopter*1 in January 2024, advancing preparations for information disclosure in line with TNFD recommendations.
This report focuses on international shipping, a core business of the NYK Group, and applies the LEAP approach*2 to assess nature-related risks and opportunities. In line with the TNFD recommendations, the report provides disclosures structured around the four pillars of "Governance", "Strategy", "Risk and Impact Management", and "Metrics and Targets". The report also highlights the NYK Group's environmental conservation initiatives under the theme of "Giving Back to the Oceans," as well as our community-based efforts to address environmental and social challenges.
Furthermore, based on the TNFD Shipping Sector Guidance published in June 2025, we have enhanced the disclosures under "Nature-related Risks and Opportunities" in the Strategy section and "Metrics and Performance" in the Metrics and Targets section.
