At a town hall meeting on September 1, NYK announced the establishment of the NYK Group Code of Conduct (“the Code”), a unified set of behavioral guidelines applicable to all NYK Group companies worldwide.

For the NYK Group, which operates businesses around the world, it is more important than ever for officers and employees to make decisions and take actions based on shared principles that transcend differences in countries, regions, cultures, and values.
To provide a common framework that enables all officers and employees worldwide to think independently and act with integrity, the Group has unified and renewed its codes of conduct that had previously been established separately by individual companies.
The Code places “integrity” — one of the NYK Group Values* — at its core and adopts “Integrity in Action” as its common slogan. It is structured around five key themes:

• Improvement of Service Quality, Pursuit of Safety, and Preservation of the Natural Environment
• Fair and Honest Business Activities
• Respect for Human Rights and Diversity
• For Better Workplaces
• Responsibility of Senior Management

These principles serve as a guide for putting the NYK Group’s corporate philosophy, “Bringing value to life,” into practice in daily operations and for continually delivering value to society.

Beyond compliance with laws and regulations, the Code encourages each individual to make and carry out the right decisions based on their own conscience. Through these actions, the NYK Group will further advance respect for human rights and sustainability management while striving to remain a corporate group trusted by society.
