NYK Hosts “Women in Climate,” a Climate Dialogue Led by Female Leaders
NYK Line (NYK), in partnership with Climeworks*, a Swiss next-generation technology company, jointly hosted a climate dialogue in Tokyo on May 13.
Women in Climate
Titled “Women in Climate,” the event was designed to foster discussion and networking among female leaders active across industries on key topics including climate change, decarbonization, and carbon dioxide removal. The event brought together female leaders from a total of 10 companies. With the shared goal of further accelerating decarbonization in Japan, participants engaged in candid discussions from a practical perspective on challenges and opportunities in decarbonization strategy and implementation, approaches to cross-industry collaboration, and the role of women’s leadership in advancing climate action.
At the event, presentations were delivered by the co-host Climeworks and Yuko Tsutsui, NYK managing executive officer and chief executive of NYK’s Sustainability & Transformation Headquarters. The program also featured talks by Noriko Ogawa, executive officer of Japan Airlines Co., Ltd., and Yumi Otsuka, senior general manager of Toyota Motor Corporation. Subsequently, active discussions were held in a roundtable format.
Going forward, NYK will continue to promote domestic and international collaboration, as well as cross-industry knowledge-sharing on climate issues, through opportunities for dialogue such as this event — thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
