Press Release

NYK Selected as Digital Transformation Platinum Company for 2026–2028

First Logistics Company to Achieve This Honor

On April 10, NYK was named a Digital Transformation Platinum Company for 2026–2028. This achievement is part of the Digital Transformation (DX) Stock program, a joint initiative by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Tokyo Stock Exchange, and Japan’s Information-Technology Promotion Agency. The program recognizes listed companies that leverage digital technology to transform corporate management practices and business models, driving sustainable improvements in corporate value.
Platinum status is awarded to companies that have not only received the DX Grand Prix —awarded to companies with particularly outstanding digital transformation initiatives — but have also maintained their status as a Digital Transformation Stock for three consecutive years. NYK’s selection marks a historic milestone as the first logistics company to receive this accolade.

NYK received the DX Grand Prix in 2023 and has since been selected as a Digital Transformation Stock for three consecutive years. This sustained commitment to innovative digital strategies has been highly evaluated.

Key Evaluation Criteria

In the screening process, NYK was highly evaluated for positioning digital technology at the core of its management strategy and for deepening existing businesses and creating new ones. Specifically, initiatives such as business process reform using generative AI, the advanced use of data in vessel operations and management, and efforts to create new value based on social issues — including ammonia-fueled vessels, offshore data centers, and space-related businesses — were recognized as linked to the enhancement of corporate value.

Furthermore, NYK’s digital transformation strategy is clearly driven by top management, and integrated initiatives spanning human resource development, organizational transformation, and information disclosure to stakeholders have been steadily advanced. These efforts were also recognized as demonstrating the company’s sustained capability to achieve digital transformation.

Going forward, the NYK Group will continue to position digital transformation as a key means of advancing its management strategy. While supporting Japan’s maritime industry, the Group will continue to pursue sustainable growth, enhance corporate value, and take on the challenge of creating new value.
