Notice Regarding Personal Information Breach

We have become aware that a marine fuel procurement system used by the NYK Group was accessed without authorization by a third party. As a result, certain data — including personal information — was accessed and exfiltrated (“the Incident”).

This notice provides a summary of the Incident and the actions taken to date as determined by our investigation. We have reported the Incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan and have taken necessary measures required under applicable laws and regulations.

We sincerely apologize for the significant concern and inconvenience the Incident may have caused our business partners and all other affected parties.


Overview of the Incident and Status
On the afternoon of March 24, 2026, we detected unauthorized access by a third party to a marine fuel procurement system used by the NYK Group. It was determined that certain data, including personal information, may have been taken from the system. Upon discovering the breach, we immediately isolated the system from the network and suspended its use.

Subsequently, we established an internal task force to investigate and address the Incident. The system was restored on March 27, 2026, and on the same day, we submitted a preliminary report to the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan and other relevant authorities in the applicable jurisdictions as necessary. In addition, we reported the Incident to the competent Japanese police authority on March 31, 2026. At this stage, there is no evidence of data encryption or any financial demands in connection with the Incident.

The personal information that may have been affected by the Incident includes the following items related to NYK Group employees (including former employees) and employees of our business partners:

- Personal information of NYK Group employees
Some or all of the following: names, company names, telephone numbers, and email addresses
- Personal information of employees of our business partners
Some or all of the following: names, company names, telephone numbers, and email addresses


Secondary Damage
At this time, no secondary damage resulting from the Incident has been confirmed.


The NYK Group takes the Incident very seriously and is committed to further strengthening its security measures and management framework. We will continue to monitor the situation.
