NYK Employee Volunteer Program Results in 1.09 Million Yen in Donations to Charities

37 NYK Group companies participate, 430 employees contribute

NYK is proud to announce fiscal 2025 donations totaling 1,099,860 yen to three charitable organizations dedicated to environmental preservation, supporting developing countries, and the realization of an inclusive society. This amount was calculated using the “Yusen Volunteer Point” system, which awards points for volunteer activities conducted by NYK Group employees and converts them into a monetary value.

Since its inception in 2014, this initiative has encouraged individual employees within the NYK Group to actively engage in social contributions across a range of activities, such as environmental preservation, community support and educational assistance. Participants earn points for registered volunteer activities throughout the year, and the accumulated points are later converted into a monetary donation to organizations working to address social and environmental issues. The donation recipients are selected based on survey feedback from participating employees.

To further promote volunteer activities, we recognize outstanding contributions by awarding annual individual awards to employees with the most points, as well as group awards for the group companies with the highest participation rates.

The NYK Group, guided by a management policy that prioritizes sustainability at its core, is proactively addressing social and environmental challenges under the theme of “Giving back to the oceans, the earth, and people. We will continue to advance various initiatives, including the “Yusen Volunteer Point” system, in collaboration with external partners.
