NYK Holds DX Festival 2025
Shares case studies on leveraging IT, digital tools, and AI to accelerate DX initiatives
On October 31, NYK held DX Festival 2025 at its head office to showcase and share practical examples of how the company and its group companies are leveraging IT, digital technologies, and AI to enhance business operations. The event was attended by 594 employees — both onsite and online — from NYK and its group companies.
Highlights of the event included a keynote speech by Tetsuya Yasukochi,* an exhibition, and panel discussions on topics such as “How Generative AI Is Transforming Work” and “DX: Where Every Employee Takes the Lead.”
Now in its third year, the event featured exhibits from NYK’s business divisions and group companies, as well as from Gilia Inc., Toyota Auto Body Co., Ltd., West Japan Railway Company, Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd., and Fujitsu Limited.
During the panel discussion, moderated by Tetsuya Yasukochi, NYK Senior Managing Executive Officer Nobuhiro Kashima, Executive Officer Yasuyuki Takahashi, and guest panelist Toshie Ninomiya, managing executive officer of Microsoft Japan, discussed topics such as whether generative AI truly makes work easier, how AI utilization might transform work quality, and the development of rules for the safe use of AI in the field.
Furthermore, it was stressed among the participants that DX is not only one of the five transformations** needed to achieve the Group’s medium-term management plan but also serves as an important enabler to accomplish the other four transformations (AX, BX, CX, EX).
We remain committed to strengthening our initiatives in digital technologies and advancing our Group’s medium-term management plan, all in pursuit of our group mission: “Bringing value to life.”

** In March 2023, NYK announced its medium-term management plan, “Sail Green, Drive Transformations 2026 — A Passion for Planetary Wellbeing.” To achieve this vision, we are driving forward five key transformations collectively referred to as “ABCDE-X.” These include AX and BX — core strategies focused on deepening existing businesses and developing new ones — supported by CX (transformation in talent development, organizational structure, and group management), DX (digital transformation), and EX (energy transformation).
