The NYK Group and the Yusen Logistics Group have donated 53,320 trees to One Tree Planted (OTP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to global forest restoration.

This donation is based on a charity walking event held in June to promote employee health through walking and contribute to a sustainable society through environmental stewardship. The number of trees donated was determined by the total steps taken by participants during the event period, with more than 7,000 employees — both domestically and internationally — accumulating around 1.37 billion steps.

As a comprehensive global logistics company, the NYK Group strongly supports OTP’s efforts to restore forests around the world. The donated trees will be planted in the Andes, Indonesia, Nepal, and Romania — regions selected by the top seven companies based on step count during the event — and are expected to significantly contribute to local environmental conservation and ecosystem restoration.
