At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, NYK Senior Managing Executive Officer Yuko Tsutsui — chief executive of the company’s Sustainability & Transformation Headquarters — served as a featured speaker at a conference on green transformation (GX Conference) hosted by Nikkei Inc. on September 25. During her presentation and a subsequent panel discussion, Tsutsui shared information about the NYK Group’s decarbonization strategy and related initiatives.

Under the theme "Shaping a Brighter Future for Our Lives with GX," the NIKKEI GX Conference* featured dynamic corporate presentations and engaging panel discussions that fostered comprehensive discussions focused on advancing GX as a key driver for future sustainability and innovation.

Tsutsui shared the NYK Group’s decarbonization strategy and efforts in developing ammonia fuel ships. She also participated in a panel discussion themed "Enhancing Corporate Value through Energy Innovation," moderated by Professor Yukari Takamura of the University of Tokyo’s Institute for Future Initiatives, together with Yosuke Kuwahara, head of the Carbon Neutrality Promotion Office at Osaka Gas Co., Ltd.’s Corporate Planning Department, and Jun Ando from Nikkei’s Editorial Committee Division. During the panel, Tsutsui elaborated on the company’s proactive response to the newly introduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emission regulations by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), as well as our initiatives for human resource development related to offshore wind power generation in Akita.
