The low-carbon methanol supplied this time was produced using a mass balance method,** which attributes environmental value to the manufacturing process by utilizing renewable raw materials such as renewable natural gas and green hydrogen. This method significantly contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Moreover, it has obtained ISCC EU certification, an international standard for sustainability and traceability of biomass and biofuels. This certification guarantees reduced environmental impact and transparency in the supply chain.
The NYK Group is committed to advancing fleet decarbonization and realizing clean transportation by utilizing a diverse range of low-carbon and decarbonized fuels, including low-carbon methanol.
