NYK to Integrate Keihin Dock and Yokohama Machinery
Combining Technical and Sales Capabilities to Strengthen Engineering Business
NYK will amalgamate two of its research and technical companies — Keihin Dock Co., Ltd. and Yokohama Machinery Co., Ltd. — as part of a strategic business integration.
By integrating Keihin Dock, the only shipbuilding company within the NYK Group, and Yokohama Machinery, which specializes in the sale of marine equipment and related products, the company aims to consolidate its technical and sales capabilities and strengthen its sales force. The engineering business will continue to be developed for ships and marine/industrial machinery, equipment, and components within the NYK Group.
Overview of New Company
Effective October 1, Yokohama Machinery will be absorbed into Keihin Dock, leading to organizational integration. The newly established Yokohama Machinery Department at the Keihin Dock Sales Headquarters will inherit the functions of Yokohama Machinery.
Purpose of Integration
This business integration is part of our strategic initiatives under the NYK Group’s “Sail Green, Drive Transformations 2026” medium-term management plan. By deepening our core businesses and investments in new ventures, the Group aims to commercialize its shipping business through the development and sale of new technologies and services.
