NYK Holds 21st NYK Fleet Safety Management Meeting in Tokyo and Imabari

In July, NYK hosted the 21st NYK Fleet Safety Management Meeting to share safety measures and review past accidents, thereby enhancing overall safety awareness. The meeting took place at both the Tokyo head office and in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, bringing together domestic and overseas shipowners and ship-management companies.

These meetings are part of the Remember Naka-no-Se safety campaign, which runs annually for two months from July 1. Inspired by the lessons learned from the Diamond Grace oil spill in Tokyo Bay in July 1997, this campaign aims to promote and reinforce safe operations among officers, employees, and partners.

Building on last year’s format, the meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and online participation. A total of 142 companies and more than 410 participants from Japan and overseas contributed to vibrant, insightful discussions.

The NYK Group remains steadfast in its commitment to safety, the foundation of sustainable management, through the collaborative efforts of stakeholders at sea and on land both inside and outside Japan.

The NYK fleet safety management meeting in Imabari reaffirmed the commitment to safe operations among shipowners and ship-management companies.
