NYK Participates in Blue Economy & Finance Forum, Official Event of 2025 UN Ocean Conference

NYK participated in the Blue Economy & Finance Forum held in Monaco from 7 to 8 June. During the event, Akira Kono, NYK executive vice president, engaged with international participants in discussions on decarbonization initiatives, highlighting efforts toward alternative fuels for NYK ships and the international shipping industry.

The Blue Economy & Finance Forum is an official side event of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, which is being held in France from 9 to 13 June. The forum aims to promote blue economies,* investment in sustainable shipping, and innovative tools for blue finance.** Notably, among the diverse participants from governments, corporations, NGOs, and NPOs around the world, NYK was the sole Japanese shipping company represented.

NYK remains committed to collaborating with partners to drive initiatives in marine conservation and decarbonization of the maritime industry, thereby actively contributing to the realization of a sustainable future.
