Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) and Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (YLK) will jointly exhibit at SPEXA, a space business exhibition to be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo) from April 24 (Wed) to 26 (Fri). On the 25th, we will be giving a joint presentation on the theme of "Space × Shipping and Logistics" at Conference Hall C. NYK’s challenge for collaborative creation of value through “Space × Shipping” will be introduced, and YL, which is in charge of logistics, will propose logistics solutions for the procurement of satellite and rocket parts, production, and finished products by utilizing its global network.
Background of Joint Exhibition
NYK, which operates international ocean transportation services, and YL, which provides seamless logistics services, have entered the space-related business. We will introduce our group's services to many people, including customers involved in space-related businesses.
1) NYK
In 2023, NYK established the Advanced Tech and Space Business Development Team and entered the space-related business. Upstream of the business, space business development is being conceived by utilizing NYK's assets. Downstream, the team aims to create new business by combining data acquired via launched satellites with data from more than 800 vessels operated by the NYK Group. We are also engaged in joint research with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
(2) YL
YL is a supply chain logistics company that provides ocean and air freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution services, and supply chain management on a global scale. With a network of more than 680 offices in 47 countries and regions around the world, we provide optimal solutions to meet our customers' requirements.
