At a gathering of seafarers, we introduce MarCoPay’s services for them and their families. For those seafarers who feel anxious or reluctant about using our services, we will continue to carefully explain why we recommend the introduction of MarCoPay.

In November 2023, the Yusen Logistics (YL) Group announced its establishment of a 45% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030 as a medium-term target. Immediately after, the group held an ESG workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, for the sustainability leaders of South Asia & Oceania region to discuss how to draft reduction plans. The YL Group will continue pushing ahead with initiatives aimed at achieving the target.

In 2020, the RDC was established in Manila, Philippines. At the RDC, centralized monitoring of the condition of the engine plants on the approximately 200 ships equipped with SIMS* is conducted 24 hours a day by navigation officers and engineers with expertise and experience in engine systems. * Ship Information Management System

LNG-fueled tugboat Sakigake being converted to an ammonia-fueled tugboat. Engines, fuel tanks, and other ammonia-related equipment will be installed after the original hull is cut away and LNG-related equipment is removed.

We conduct onshore training that uses ship-handling simulators, which reproduce actual ship-handling conditions as realistically as possible. To continue safe ship operations in an era of diversifying ship types, our crew members around the world constantly update their knowledge and technical skills.

In recognition of its strong commitment to human rights initiatives and other environmental, social, and governance (ESG) measures, NYK India Private Limited received a compliance-related award at a conference hosted in 2023 by a customer for its suppliers and business partners. This favorable evaluation has elevated the company’s commitment to ESG initiatives even further.

Trainees earnestly absorb the knowledge needed to become an engineer. In 2006, NYK became the first Japanese shipping company to establish an in-house training program that provides a pathway by which graduates of general four-year universities or technical colleges can become navigation officers or engineers after joining the Company. To date, more than 100 employees have obtained licenses as navigation officers or engineers through the system and are now working in these positions.
