NYK's Volunteer Point System Generates Donations for Five Charities

NYK has made donations to five charities engaged in activities that promote education and provide support to children.

NYK has a volunteer point system that was introduced in 2014 to encourage greater participation by the group’s officers and employees in activities that contribute to society. Points are granted for each form of contribution made, and the company then tallies the points, converts them to a monetary amount, and makes donations.

During the 2018 calendar year, 366 staff members from 37 group companies participated in this volunteer system. One of the staff was recognized for his activities to teach sports to children, as were companies having high rates of staff participation in activities that benefit society and companies that continually conduct unique activities.

Participating volunteers voted on the charities to benefit, and the below five organizations that are engaged in activities promoting education and providing support to children were selected.

NYK will make every effort to remain a good corporate citizen and enhance its corporate value for all stakeholders by continuing the company’s support of social contribution activities by employees.
