NYK Included in the World's Most Ethical Companies for Sixth Consecutive Year

March 22, 2013

For a sixth consecutive year, NYK has been recognized as one of the 2012 World’s Most Ethical Companies* by the U.S. think tank Ethisphere Institute. Four other Japanese companies joined NYK on the list, but NYK was the sole company from the shipping industry to be recognized.

This list has been compiled annually since 2007 by the research-based Ethisphere Institute, a leading international think tank. The World’s Most Ethical Companies designation recognizes leading companies that truly go beyond making statements about doing business “ethically” and translate those words into action. This year, the institute carefully reviewed responses to questions in the below categories for companies in over 100 countries and 36 industries.

1.      Ethics and Compliance Program
2.      Reputation, Leadership and Innovation
3.      Governance
4.      Corporate Citizenship and Responsibility
5.      Culture of Ethics

NYK, as a good corporate citizen, will continue to take an active role in social issues, including conservation of the environment, to contribute to the achievement of a better global society.
