NYK Announces New Service Consortium Linking Asia
with Hawaii, Mexico, and the West Coast of South America

 NYK is pleased to announce a new consortium with Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) in the container trade linking Asia with Hawaii, Mexico, and the west coast of South America.

 The new service will replace NYK’s current ALEX-Neo service with two strings, ALEX-1, which will link Asia with Mexico, Peru, and Chile, and ALEX-2, which will link Asia with Hawaii, Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador. Both strings will be a fixed-day weekly service.

 Vessel capacity will be upgraded by deploying mainly 4,200–4,800 TEU nominal vessels in ALEX-1, and 2,500 TEU nominal vessels in ALEX-2, to serve the demand in this fast-growing trade lane.

 Meanwhile, NYK will continue its MAREX-Neo service linking Asia (via transhipment), Los Angeles, Mexico, and the west coast of Central America (WCCA) as an independent service.

 The details for ALEX-1, ALEX-2, and MAREX-Neo will be as follows:

<ALEX-1> 70 Days Round, 10 x 4,200–4,800 TEU Nominal Vessels, Weekly Service

Yokohama – Keelung – Hong Kong – Da Chan Bay – Xiamen – Shanghai – Busan – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Callao (Peru) – Iquique (Chile) – Valparaiso (Chile) – Lirquen (Chile) – Callao – Manzanillo – Yokohama
*Voyage Commencement: M/V MOL Bravery departing Keelung on July 22, 2010
 
<ALEX-2> 63 Days Round, 9 x 2,500 TEU Nominal Vessels, Weekly Service
*Port Rotation:
Tokyo – Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Nagoya – Yokohama – Honolulu – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Buenaventura (Colombia) – Guayaquil (Ecuador) – Manzanillo – Honolulu – Tokyo
*Voyage Commencement: M/V MOL Satisfaction departing Busan on July 29, 2010
 
<MAREX-Neo> 21 Days Round, 3 x 1,700 TEU Nominal Vessels, Weekly Service

Los Angeles (USA) – Manzanillo (Mexico) – Puerto Quetzal (Guatemala) – Acajutla (El Salvador) – Corinto (Nicaragua) – Puerto Caldera (Costa Rica) – Puerto Quetzal – Manzanillo – Los Angeles
 
Note: Asia – west coast of Central America cargos will be served via transhipment
