NYK Group to Expand Personnel Exchanges to Enhance Its Comprehensive Logistics Services

July 13, 2009

As part of its comprehensive logistics strategy, NYK has begun an earnest exchange of personnel among its logistics companies. The first personnel transfer went into effect on July 1.

The transfer, including one planned for September 1, will involve 10 staff members from NYK, Yusen Air & Sea Service Co. Ltd., NYK Line Japan Ltd., and NYK Logistics Japan Co.,Ltd.

Manpower that generates added value through innovation and ingenuity is the key to success in the comprehensive logistics business, and NYK is therefore making a substantial effort to provide its personnel with opportunities to display their talents through training and news experiences and further develop into experts at the forefront of the industry.

For the further growth of the group, it is urgent that we make every effort to foster human resources by allowing those who have deep knowledge and expertise in various logistics fields to transcend boundaries in business divisions and companies.

NYK will expand the scope of companies that will take part in the exchange of personnel as one of the means to strengthen its comprehensive logistics strategy. It will also promote business training in the entire group, and strengthen training for salespersons who are working at the forefront of business.

At a kick-off meeting held on July 3, the 10 staff members to be transferred were encouraged by NYK president Yasumi Kudo (front left), Yusen Air & Sea Service president Shunichi Yano(front right), NYK Line Japan president Toshinori Yamashita (back row, second from right), NYK Logistics president Masahiko Fukatsu (back row, fourth from right) , and others in attendance.
