NYK de Mexico, S.A. de C.V., a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK, received the highest rating of any Japan-related company in Expansion magazine’s third annual compilation of “Super Empresas,” or “super companies.” In the category for companies with less than 500 employees, NYK de Mexico was ranked 23rd.
The list is based on a rating survey for companies conducted annually by Top Company, a prestigious consulting firm in Mexico. Evaluating both corporate culture and organizational environment, Top Company defines a company for which everyone wants most to work as “a super company.”
The rating is based on the results of a questionnaire sent to employees asking them about the corporate culture and working environment at their company, as well as to evaluate regulations regarding human resources and related programs. To confirm the credibility of the evaluation, the results are audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers, an auditing company with operations in 153 countries.
The top 50 companies selected (in two categories: those with more than 500 employees, and those with less than 500 employees) were announced in a popular Mexican business magazine, Expansion, a biweekly that has a circulation of 53,200.
This year, 218 companies were nominated in the category for companies that have more than 500 employees and 292 in the category for companies that have less than 500 employees. An awards ceremony was held on May 22, and was attended by NYK de Mexico president Shunsuke Miyakawa.
The NYK Group will continue to make efforts to improve the workplace environment and further upgrade the quality of its services together with group members around the world.
