Yamatai Transports Aid to Survivors of Japan Earthquake and Tsunami -No.2-

Yamatai, a module carrier operated by NYK-Hinode Line Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Line, has arrived at the port of Hachinohe in Aomori prefecture as scheduled.
In addition to the All Japan Seaman's Union, the local governments, and NPOs invited to participate by NYK, the following companies and NPOs provided relief supplies to the "First Relief Supplies Hotline," which was established by the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations and NYK: Asahi Glass Co. Main relief supplies sent upon request to the quake-stricken area include the following: food (rice, retort curry, instant noodles, etc.), daily commodities (dry-cell batteries, masks, toilet paper, etc.), baby goods (diapers, milk powder), female hygiene products, sanitary materials, etc.
Relief supplies from each company and organization will be transported to each city, town, and village in the prefectures of Aomori, Iwate and Miyagi. NYK will continue to use its logistics and transport services, facilities, and networks across oceans, land, and air to demonstrate the group’s commitment to social contribution activities.
