NYK Group CSR Framework
Strengthening CSR Management Headquarters
|

|

On April 1, 2005, NYK established the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Management Headquarters, headed by President Koji Miyahara, with the aim of further strengthening and promoting CSR activities.
NYK, at the group level, has for many years been engaged in a variety of activities designed to fulfill the responsibilities that we have in the following areas: ensuring compliance, maintaining safe operations, preserving the environment, respecting human rights, improving occupational health and safety, and making a significant contribution to society. Each employee in the NYK Group is asked to reflect on the significance and necessity of our responsibilities, and to incorporate into one's daily routine activities that address these matters.
In April 2006, the compliance and risk management functions were combined and assigned to the Compliance and Risk Management Group, which was established within the CSR Management Headquarters.
- As a large corporate entity that has an active and established role in society, it is important for us to reflect on the role our company has in society, and if we adequately respond to societal needs.
- It is essential that employees understand that CSR activities do not simply involve setting out to accomplish one special task, but entail daily activities in response to needs in society, resulting in jobs that have truly worthwhile impacts on our communities.
CSR Promotion Activities

To carry out our mission statement, each department is incorporating CSR action programs into their daily operations. The following PDCA cycle is being implemented to strengthen the system for CSR promotion.
Relationship with Stakeholders

The NYK Group aims not only to inform stakeholders but also to communicate with them to learn new perspectives and values. We will use this information to improve management transparency and continually review our vision for the NYK Group.
