New Ore Carrier, Bao An, Delivered

A ore carrier, Bao An, was completed and chartered to NYK on October 31, 2008, by Namura Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. The vessel will be used exclusively by Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. during the next 10 years to transport two million tons of iron ore annually from Western Australia to China.

At the naming and delivery ceremony, Wang Liqun, assistant of the president of Baosteel, and Hidenori Hono, director, managing corporate officer of NYK, joined a number of others in attendance to celebrate the maiden voyage of the vessel.
