NYK Issues 2008 Edition of the Group's CSR Report
August 8, 2008

The NYK Group has issued the 2008 edition of its CSR report (A4 size, 50 pages, full color), which provides an extensive review of the group's social responsibility activities.
In 2002, the group began issuing annual reports on the topic of its corporate social responsibility, particularly as it related to the environment. The first few of these reports were given the title "Social & Environmental Report." In 2005, the group began referring to these annual reports as CSR reports, and this is the fourth to be published.
The report begins with NYK president Koji Miyahara discussing the group's new medium-term management plan, titled "New Horizon 2010," the new NYK Cool Earth Project, the need for sound, highly transparent corporate management, safe and environment-friendly operations, and the establishment of workplaces that instill pride.
The report also contains two special features that provide a more in-depth look into (1) environment-friendly technology being used within the NYK Group and (2) the NYK Nature Fellowship. Both concern environmental issues and the sea, the main sphere of activity for the NYK Group. And, as has been the practice for the past two years, the report includes dialogues with stakeholders as well.
