NYK to Nominate Two Outside Directors

At a meeting held on April 25, 2008, NYK board members agreed to recommend that the two below individuals from outside the company be nominated at the 121st annual shareholders' meeting, to be held near the end of June 2008, to serve as outside directors on the NYK board. The board also agreed to the new members of director and corporate officer to be nominated and approved in the annual shareholders' meeting and board meeting after that.
The addition of two outside directors will allow for appropriate transparency of company management, and it is expected that the outside directors will strengthen the role of board meetings and thus positively impact the long-term prosperity of the company.
