NYK Logistics (CIS) Announces New Warehouse in Moscow

NYK Logistics (CIS) Announces New Warehouse in Moscow
NYK is pleased to announce that it will open its first warehousing operation in Moscow, Russia.

A long term contract has been signed with Russian developer Logo Group in February 2008 to rent a newly constructed class A, 13,380 m² warehouse in the strategically located Pokrov region of Moscow. The warehouse is only 10 km away from Moscow ring road (MKAD) on Simferopolskoye Highway, allowing easy access to Moscow consumers, virtually free of Moscow?s traffic jams at all hours of the day.

The warehouse is scheduled to start operations in June and will serve NYK customers in several industries, most notably consumer electronics, which requires high warehousing standards as well as a fast and reliable distribution network to Moscow and other regions of Russia.

Managing Director of NYK Logistics (CIS), Mikhail Kholyavenko said: "Opening of the Moscow warehouse is an important stepping stone towards development of full service portfolio in Russia. Over the last four years, NYK has been active in the Russian logistics market establishing reliable and efficient international transport, customs clearance and domestic distribution solutions within the automotive, retail and consumer electronics industries. Opening a warehouse in Moscow underscores NYK Logistics? commitment to Russia and allows us to serve our existing and future customers better."
