(T.S.K. Line; head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president; Takatake Naraoka) Bookings have started, and cargo booked through OSCAR is scheduled to be loaded from February 18.
OSCAR, an acronym for ?One System Covers All Regions,? is a single IT system commonly usable throughout the world. The system is currently used for routes in Oceania, Europe, and Central and South America. Later this year, around summertime, implementation of OSCAR is scheduled for the North America region, completing the worldwide inauguration of the system. Prior to OSCAR, different systems for each region had to be used.
By expanding the scope of OSCAR, NYK now has a system that can not only provide rapid access to customers? booking information and issue documents such as bills of lading but also can access credit information from anywhere in the world so that customers? inquiries can be handled swifty.
Through its continual efforts to streamline business process, NYK continues to provide customers with swift and efficient, as well as quality, services.
