NYK Line Pakistan (Private) Ltd. Established

NYK Group South Asia Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK; head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Koji Miyahara), has established NYK Line Pakistan (Private) Ltd. The new company began operations on August 20.
In 1959, NYK appointed James Finlay Limited as its regional shipping agent in Pakistan to chiefly handle containerized cargo and car transport business activities. The annual container handling volume at the port of Karachi has since reached 1 million TEUs, and growth is expected to continue. The purpose of the establishment of this local company is to respond to increasing demand in this region. Pakistan is also known as the gate port to countries in central Asia, and this local company will allow us to better respond to customer needs in this region.
NYK Line Pakistan (Private) Ltd. is NYK?fs 13th regional shipping agent in Asia. This establishment should greatly help NYK improve its customer service in the area. Through its global network, NYK will continue to strive to enhance its capability in serving the needs of customers in fast-growing markets.

We regret their decision to leave the company as well as the reefer business but still we respect their standpoint and wish them great success in their new strategy.
