November 24 2006
The NYK Group's Monohakobi Technology Institute (MTI; Head office: Tokyo) opened an IC-tag testing facility in Ota-ku, Tokyo, on November 24, 2006.
The facility is built on the premises of a warehouse currently in use, allowing for the accurate reproduction of distribution-site conditions in which various types of IC tags can be tested at different frequencies. The facility is also equipped with transportation materials necessary for distribution operations, including pallets, returnable racks, and roller conveyors.
Aside from the testing, real distribution solutions models and panels using IC tags are displayed along with detailed explanations. In this way, the facility can help introduce and promote distribution solutions to customers as well as distribution-related parties.
NYK will open similar facilities all over the world and continue to introduce convenient and efficient ways of implementing IC tags not only domestically but overseas in order to further create new business opportunities.
