Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK; Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Koji Miyahara) has published a comic book titled The Grand Voyage of the Sea Camel, which provides readers with information about operations on liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.

This comic book focuses on a new seafarer assigned to work on board an LNG carrier and allows readers to become more familiar with a variety of LNG-related matters, such as loading and unloading procedures.

NYK expects the animated feature to convey a basic understanding of technical knowledge to the LNG seafarers the company recruits and educates all over the world. The publication provides clear explanations about the importance of LNG to society and further facilitates the education of seafarers who support the safety operations of LNG carriers.

In March this year, NYK published a compilation of operating and management procedures about LNG carriers. However, The Grand Voyage of the Sea Camel uses the easy-to-understand, approachable medium of animation to help make LNG transportation and the company's safety operations more understandable to the public at large.

This comic book has been published in English and Japanese, as well as Arabic, which is spoken in most of the LNG-producing countries in the Middle East.
