NYK Establishes Logistics Integrator Group

April 4, 2006

The Logistics Integrator Group was established as part of the Global Logistics Headquarters of Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) on April 4, 2006.

"Evolution toward a logistics integrator" is one of the three management strategies in the company's medium-term group management plan, "New Horizon 2007." The Logistics Integrator Group has been established to collaborate with local companies overseas and with each group in the Global Logistics Headquarters* to promote integrated logistics operations and management using a customer-oriented approach.

In addition to addressing requests for high-quality, prompt service, NYK must provide more detailed responses to customer needs. For the NYK Group, "relationships" with customers are more aptly considered to be "partnerships," and the company desires to strengthen its integration of logistics to provide customer service of an even higher quality.
