NYK Selected Again for Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has been selected once again for the Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes (DJSI).

The DJSI are the global stock indexes of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI), jointly developed by Dow Jones of the U.S and SAM Group of Switzerland, which conducts assessments on corporate sustainability. Companies are chosen for the indexes based on detailed surveys and thorough assessments of sustainable performance from an environmental and social aspect, in addition to economic performance. This year 318 companies have been selected as a members of DJSI.

The DJSI are regarded as important criteria for investment decisions for those concerned about corporate social responsibilities and sustainable performance. In addition, as those companies chosen for DJSI are being included in the portfolios of global SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) funds, Eco (Environmental Investment) funds and others, the indexes have consequently drawn strong attention from global investors.
