NYK Line will be incorporated into Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes (DJSI World), which cover corporations worldwide, as from September 22 this year. This indicates that NYK's efforts to protect the environment, solve employment/labor problems and better cope with the human rights issue, as well as NYK's economical efficiency, have been duly acknowledged.

DJSI World is stock indexes in terms of corporate sustainability, which have been developed by Dow Jones, well known for its Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Switzerland-based Sustainability Asset Management (SA), which assesses corporate sustainability. Companies for DJSI World are chosen from a viewpoint of sustainability, which pays heed to not only financial data, but also environmental and social activities by analyzing the results of a detailed questionnaire-based survey.

A total of 317 corporations around the world will be newly added to DJSI World as from September 22 this year, including 35 Japanese firms.

DJSI World serves as an important yardstick for investors who are keenly interested in the social responsibility and sustainability of corporations. Its indexes are drawing close attention among investors as its component corporations have been adopted for various investment funds, such as SRI funds (social responsibility investment trusts) and eco funds (environmental investment trusts).

Since March this year, NYK has also been adopted for FTSE4 Good Global Index, which enjoys a high reputation along with DJSI World.
