Organizational Reshuffle to Reinforce its Legal Sector

In order to strengthen its legal sector, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) set up a general and legal affairs group on January 1 by integrating its General Affairs and Law and Insurance groups.

As its business activities globalize, risks the company have to take are growing while its group affiliates need more complex legal advice in conjunction with the centralization of management.

In order to meet these demands, NYK has indicated, it will improve its legal management system through the establishment of the new unit.

The general and legal affairs group comprises a general affairs team, a legal and stock team, a maritime law team, a maritime insurance team and a compliance chamber.
