NYK launches NYK Logistics (Europe) Limited

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) of Tokyo is pleased to announce the establishment of NYK Logistics (Europe) Limited as of 1st January 2003 in order to execute NYK's Logistics strategy plan for expansion into Logistics business.

NYK Logistics (Europe) Ltd has a capital of GBP 500,000 and is based at the NYK Line (Europe) Ltd., offices in London, UK. The structure of the company consists of Mr. M. Sato, Chairman, Mr. S. Murakami, Managing Director, Mr. J. R. Davidson, Director and eleven staff members.

NYK Logistics' (Europe) Limited main purpose, is to establish a single window point of contact for supplying total integrated logistics services including ocean transport, warehousing and distribution, by making good use of IT . The company will be offering a full range of supply chain management and value-added services. NYK Logistics (Europe) Limited will be drawing its authority and responsibility for co-ordinating both subcontractors and NYK group companies, directly from the NYK Tokyo headquarters.

The establishment of NYK Logistics (Europe) Ltd follows last year's establishment of NYK Logistics (Americas) Inc. during the beginning of 2002 and signifies NYK's commitment in remaining a lead logistics provider on a global scale. In keeping with NYK Line's 'Strategy of Synergy & Scale', this move, brings NYK Line closer to the establishment of NYK Logistics offices in Asia, Japan and China and the gradual incorporation of all group companies under the NYK Logistics & Megacarrier double wing logo.
