Scope Expansion of NYK Line ISO14001
October 21, 2002
At NYK, we made scope expansion of NYK Line ISO14001 to additionally cover the 5 branches and 3 container terminals(Ohi, Daikoku, Rokko) in Japan.
The scope of the certificate that NYK had been certified in March 2002, was "mega-logistics/ocean carriage services," which means our environmental activities positively covers all of our shipping services using not only vessels owned by NYK but also using those chartered from the market.
Since then, we have been continuing to expand the environmental management system (EMS) in all offices in Japan. Now we made scope expansion and it certainly supports our EMS on shipping services, a core business, firmly.
With the growing demand from the society to fulfill the social responsibility of corporations, we believe it is now crucial to bring greater method and transparency to environmental protection activities.
In the next half of a year, we will expand the EMS in the overseas offices, and we are always ready to disclose the necessary information to our stakeholders.
