NYK Line Expands China Service on Transpacific Trade

August 9, 2002

NYK Line, together with the other Grand Alliance carriers, is introducing a new weekly service covering Central and Northern China ports to and from U.S. PSW gateways in the form of a slot charter agreement with COSCO Container Lines. This service will be offered in an effort to better serve NYK's valued customers in the fast growing China market with new direct coverage of Xingang and Dalian, which have not been offered before. The new service expands our coverage beyond existing direct China ports of call at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian and Shekou. Port rotation of the new service is as follows: Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Busan, Long Beach, Oakland, Yokohama and back to Dalian. The service is expected to commence sometime in September, subject to completion of filing requirements with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission.
