The Great East Japan Earthquake brought damage on an unprecedented scale. The NYK Group provided support to the area and we continue to do so, but we also asked what we could do as individuals, and this led to the sending of 120 NYK Group employee volunteers to the disaster area over a period of three months. Our volunteers were hosted by the Rikuzentakata city Social Welfare Council Disaster Relief Volunteer Center, and in putting together this report we invited the center's president and other experts in the field to talk with us about the social contribution activities of the NYK Group.
