The NYK Group encourages its staff members to engage in supportive activities based on its core business and charity drives against disasters in Japan and overseas.

| February 2006 | Philippines: Landslide on Leyte Island | NYK sponsored the NYK-TDG Friendship Foundation jointly with the Transnational Diversified Group (TDG), one of NYK's business partners in the Philippines, and donated 3 million pesos (approximately 6.6 million yen) to the Philippine National Red Cross. NYK Group executives and staff members donated 719,000 yen* to the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Japan, an NPO/NGO. The donations supported house-reconstruction programs and job-skills programs, among others, for people affected by disasters. |

NYK donated 5 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society. NYK Group executives and staff members donated a total of 1,278,000 yen* to JPF and the former NYK agent James Finlay Limited Pakistan. Additionally, NYK and subsidiary TSK offered complementary transportation for aid in cooperation with JPF, delivering supplies such as blankets, towels, and food in 65 20-foot containers.** Sales amounting to 300,000 yen at a charity event attended by NYK Group staff members were donated to JEN, an NPO/NGO. |

| December 2004 | Off-Sumatra Earthquake and subsequent Indian Ocean Tsunami | In addition to NYK's donation of 10 million yen, NYK Group executives and staff members donated 9,523,414 yen** to the Japanese Red Cross Society. NYK Group companies also collaborated for complimentary transportation of aid such as food, water, hygiene products, and medical supplies in 617 20-foot containers** from all over the world. Sales amounting to 1,630,000 yen at a charity event attended by NYK Group staff members were donated to the NPO/NGO KnK International Children without Borders and other relevant organizations. |
