What is Millennium Development Goals ?

As part of its social contribution activities, the NYK Group is making an effort toward achieving the MDGs.
In September 2000, the United Nations Millennium Declaration was adopted at the three-day Millennium Summit. The declaration has eight chapters and key objectives, including peace, security, and disarmament; development and poverty eradication; protecting our common environment; human rights, democracy, and good governance; and meeting the special needs of Africa.
In addition, at the same summit, all 192 United Nations member states and at least 23 international organizations agreed to achieve by the year 2015 eight international development goals, or what are called the “Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).”
